Laser Cut Acrylic Blanks Aftercare

Laser Cut Acrylic Blanks Aftercare

This guide will help you get the most out of your laser cut acrylic blanks, cake toppers, cupcake toppers and acrylic discs.

Acrylic is great to work with because it is hard wearing and durable, however it needs to be treated with care to maximize it's life and to stop it from discolouring or scratching.

Caring for your laser cut acrylic blanks:

  • Treat your acrylic blanks with love & store them in tissue paper or their box when not in use
  • All blanks come with a paper coating, only remove this once you're ready to use it. Remove the paper from the side that you are customizing, and leave the other side on until your pieces are ready to be given to your customers, to keep them scratch free.
  • Acrylic should be kept dry where possible, and stored in a cool dark area when not in use.
  • To avoid scratching only use warm soapy water and your fingers to wash, then give a very light wipe over with a microfiber cloth to remove any water marks.
  • If there are spots on the surface or fingerprint marks, you can wipe over these gently with a cotton tip & some isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol to clean these off. Don't rub hard as this will mark the acrylic.
  • Acrylic is durable, however can retain smells and can discolour if it comes into contact with some scents so keep away from body lotion, hairspray, perfume, sunscreen & scented soap
  • Acrylic can scratch easily so keep away from sharp objects.
  • If you are moving moving house or sending an acrylic piece to a customer make sure that your acrylic blanks are packed with bubble wrap and an outer box to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition
